Meet Marty! Marty is an adorable lovebird who was found outside and brought to STAR. He (or she) loves being around people, but is working on being okay with hands. He steps up well onto perches and gloved hands but those bare fingers scare him. Marty loves to fly and bathe and generally be around people, following them into other rooms so he can supervise the household. Marty does okay with kids, and while he isn't fearful of other household pets, still needs close supervision when out of his cage. He does not get very loud, and depending on the environment could do well in a house or apartment. Adoption Fee: $80Adoption processWhether interested in adopting a particular bird or not, you will need to fill out an Adoption Application, which can be found on our website. From there, our adoption team will process your application (including background check, veterinarian check for all current animals, and a home visit)We will not ship any of our adoptable birds, and have a 100-mile adoption radius. We do not adopt to breeders. We are not able to adopt birds into homes that use Teflon product or smoke due to toxicity dangers.Shelter locationThe FIRST step is to fill out an adoption application on our website at www.staravian.org/adopt. We are not able to arrange a meeting without first filling out an adoption application.
